Anhui

Type Locality and Naming

Heifei Basin, south zone. Fenghuangtai in Lu’an City, Anhui Province. Anhui Regional Geological Survey Team, 1974, Explanatory Text for 1:200 000 Scale Geological Map: Lu'an Sheet. First appeared in a 1959 manuscript "Preliminary Knowledge of Mesozoic Stratigraphy in Hefei Depression" by Yang Zhijian.

Conglomerate

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

Next older unit was indicated as Jurassic sandstones of the Sanjianpu Fm (not in Lexicon or China Strat-names book). Regional stratigraphic column shows the next older unit (below a hiatus spanning Late Jurassic?) is siltstone of the Zhongonshan Fm.
